Third Costco of the day, in the rain. Just two hot dogs and nothing from the store. The food court worker wanted to take our receipt and two regulars told us it’s how it’s always done. She gave it back after we put up a fight, but marked it like the checkers do leaving the warehouse.

The highlights

Worth the trip? Yes. Yonkers is one of the smaller Costco warehouses and we drive by it all the time on I-87 during trips south. Always wanted to stop in, but never did.

The giant ground-breaking skeleton, $149.97 with an asterisk. It was $199.99 after $60 off at Waterbury on August 29. They didn’t have one in the box and we didn’t have a truck to take the display model home.
The Orvis Outdoor Tech Hat, $2.97 with an asterisk. It was $4.00 at West Springfield on September 18. We didn’t bother asking for our $1.03 back.
Mathew, behind a 45-pack of Goldfish. $12.49 for the box. His go to after school snack. No hot dog costume in Yonkers because he was afraid it would get wet in the rain. Soggy dogs are no good.

Last stop of the day. Nine miles and 23 minutes from New Rochelle to Yonkers. Stop #11 of the Buck Fifty Project. Only one Costco left within 100 miles of home. It’s about to get real.
