The Buck Fifty Project
Visiting every Costco in America.
So far: 11 warehouses in 3 states
10 more opening soon.
Mom, Dad, and two kids. A lot of driving and flying. Every stop gets photos, a receipt, and whatever treasure we find in the aisles. And definitely way too many hot dogs.
A buck fifty at a time. The one price in the warehouse that hasn’t changed since 1985.

Warehouse 321, Yonkers, New York

Third Costco of the day, in the rain. Just two hot dogs and nothing from the store. The food court worker wanted to take our receipt and two regulars told us it’s how it’s always done. She gave it back after we put up a fight, but marked it like the checkers do leaving the warehouse.

The next Costco, in your inbox.
One email per Costco. The receipt, what was on the menu board, what it cost, and the strangest thing we found in the aisles. Free, and it stops the moment you say so.

What we are heading for
- Finish Connecticut. 7 of 8 done, 1 to go. When will we visit South Windsor?
- Twelve warehouses within 100 miles of home. An afternoon each. 11 so far.
- Get to triple digits on the warehouse count. 89 more to go. We’re really doing this.
- Fund the first overnight trip. About $700 puts the four of us on the road for a weekend and sleeps us somewhere.
How the route is ordered, what the whole thing costs and how long it takes, is on the plan.
The Project
A family of four, and one very long list

We’re a Costco family, and we kept asking a ridiculous question: has anyone been to every Costco in America? We looked, and as far as we can tell nobody has. So we’re doing it. All 648 of them, with the receipt, the menu board, and whatever we found that day. More about the four of us, including why you never see their faces.
